As you are aware, we have been hard at work for the past few months building a new aquaponics style greenhouse for our farm. We want to be able to deliver fresh, local, and organic to the local DFW school children all year long and this greenhouse is going to help us do that. We just have another few weeks of construction before we can begin the acclimation process.
An aquaponics greenhouse must be brought online very carefully so that the entire ecosystem, especially the fish, get fully acclimated to the environment before we attempt to begin growing. Because of this, we will need to have at least 30 days of acclimation before we can begin growing. This means that we will probably get our first harvest sometime just before the end of the year.
We are excited and exhausted. We are absolutely ready for this build to be finished and our new crops to start growing.
